FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is NIX Scoreboard free?

Yes, free forever. No ads, nothing to buy.

Is it iPhone only?

Yes. Scoreboard runs on iPhone with iOS 16.4 or later.

What do my friends see?

Friends see your score and how it splits by category; never which apps, never what you did in them, never anything on your screen. They also see your rank, your score each day and who won it, and your Focus minutes and the NX they took off.

Does Scoreboard see which apps I use?

No. You sort your apps with Apple's own picker, and your picks stay on your phone. Your phone sends minutes per category, never which apps and never what's on your screen.

Why are some websites blocked after I connected Screen Time?

Connecting Screen Time also turns on Apple's adult website filter on your phone, and it stays on while Scoreboard is connected. That's on purpose. An app built to help you put your phone down shouldn't leave adult sites one tap away, especially for teens. The filter runs on your device, and we never see what you browse.

What's NX?

NX are Scoreboard's tokens. Every minute costs some, by category: Social 3, Games 2.5, Entertainment 2, Neutral 1 and Productivity 0.25 NX a minute. Lowest score wins.

What if I put an app in the wrong category?

Categories lock once they're connected, so scores stay fair. Go to Profile, Token categories, and tap Request a reset. Send the request, with a note if you like, and we'll unlock your categories for 24 hours. You can also email help@nix.management.

Why can't I see my past screen time?

Scoreboard starts counting the day you install it. Your iPhone reports minutes to it as you go, so there's nothing from before.

How old do I need to be?

13 or older. Sign-up asks for your birth year.

How do I join a group?

Scan the group's QR code with the iPhone Camera, or open its invite link. In the app, you can also tap + on the Scoreboard tab, then Join with a link or code.

What does Focus block?

Every app on your phone, for 5 to 120 minutes, except Phone, Messages, FaceTime, Maps and your Always Allowed list. Each focused minute takes 1 NX off today's score.

Does answering a call or a text end Focus or Phones down?

No. Phone, Messages, FaceTime and Maps stay open, and so does your iPhone's Always Allowed list. A session ends early when you hold its end button, and in Phones down, turning off Scoreboard's Screen Time access counts as picking up.

Is there a limit on Focus?

Sessions run 5 to 120 minutes. Each focused minute takes 1 NX off, up to what you'd burned that day when the session started, and Focus never takes a day below zero. Finish, and a bonus comes off too.
